Rainy Day Stuck Inside

This man is my hero. He was creative and found fun things for Isaiah to do last Monday as we were stuck inside all day.
They started out by making a fort out of all the empty boxes.

Doesn't it look like he is walking all "macho"

The boys crawled around inside for a while until they had a cave in...

... then they had to fix it.

After the fort came the tunnel, which until Sunday was still up and being played in.

What a man!!!

This little guy loves and adores his daddy!!!

THE BIG FLOOD 9-21-09

2:00am Monday September 21st we are awoken by the loudest cracks of thunder we have ever heard!!!! It was raining so hard and the thunder kept coming - though interesting note, not a lot of lightning and no wind. Adam and I watched the water rush down our street at amazing speed. Though in all of this I didn't think to go get the camera :) And Isaiah slept through it all. After the storm passed, we finished what was left of our night and Adam got up for work as normal. But he didn't get far!! He tried for 2 hours to find a way to work that wasn't flooded but everything was closed. So, lucky him, an extra day off. We played most of the day and took it easy- not much else to do. Then around 2pm another storm broke loose. Not quite as huge as the first but still a ton of rain. And this time I took some pictures. You can't see a whole lot due to the rain and the fact I am on our front porch, but the videos are pretty good.
This is out our basement door, which opens to the side of our house. The wated came down the hill in our backyard, in between our house and the neighbors and out to the road.

You can see the dirt trail flowing.

This is our neighbors mailbox. You can kind of see the water coming up on his lawn and hitting around it.

Adam ventured out in the rain to see what the road was like.

After the rain slowed some, he even took Isaiah out for a bit.

Let me say it was quite an adventure. Luck for us, we had no structural damage nor any water leaks, though many in our neighborhood were not so lucky. Adam was able to return to work on Tuesday and even mowed that night when he got home! The west side of Atlanta got hit worse than us and they are still cleaning up the mess the rain caused.

Carousel Ride

The Saturday before the BIG FLOOD we ran some errands and ended up at one of the many malls in this area.

Isaiah was super all day so we treated him to ride on the carousel. I believe this was his first time ever. He had fun though you couldn't tell by looking at him :)

Mountain Park Park

Ok...seriously...that's the name of the Park! I did not mistype :) And it is huge and very busy on a Saturday!
In addition to the playground:

They have football fieldS:

Baseball diamondS and a large concession stand:

And softball diamondS:

We let Isaiah play for a few minutes, but he kept getting bowled over by big kids and Mommy was getting quite upset, so we went and explored other areas of the park.

We watched some little league baseball:

And ended our walk by looking at the ducks.

It was good to get outside for a bit, but note to self, go on a day other than Saturday :)

Toys & Big Boy Bed

My first task was to get Isaiah's toys and room arranged. This way he has familiar things around him as well as stuff to do!

We also decided to transition him into a big boy bed. He has done great. He can climb in and out of it by himself. He hasn't fallen out (yet-- knock on wood!). He has taken good naps and slept in it all night long. ANd in the morning, he comes finds me when he gets up.

Here he is exploring the bed for the first time :)

Here is this part of the room set up.

He got up here and wanted some pictures taken :)

And here he is asleep in his bed for his first night!

Welcome to Our "Home"?

As a short recap, a week ago Sunday Isaiah and I flew out to Atlanta to meet up with Adam, who had driven our car out. As any good blogging mom does, I took many pictures of Isaiah's first airplane ride. Unfortunately my camera card went fruity and I lost all of the pictures!! (omen??) Anyways, he did wonderfully and I think had fun :) Last Monday we took it easy, cleaned a little at the house, swam at the pool in the hotel, and explored our new town. Once again no pix 'cuz the camera is still broken- though we got it fixed that night. I was not going to be without it on delivery day!!! DUH!

Tuesday morning, bright and early, our day started.

The movers started the long, and exhausting, process of unloading all of our stuff.

By the end of the day, this is what the house looked like...

Adam and Isaiah found things to do to help the time go by. Isaiah loved to explore and go up and down the stairs inside and out.

Up the ramp/stairs:

Down the stairs:

And back up again...over and over:

Adam pushing Isaiah up the driveway:

And Isaiah zooming back down:

I promise there will be pictures of the final product soon. I have a few more boxes left and some finishing touches before I reveal it all to you.
Our first week has had its ups and downs, probably more ups than downs, but none the less we survived.

Happy Anniversary!!!

I wanted to take time out of al the hustle and bustle to wish my Grandma Flossie and Grandpa George a happy 60th year anniversary. They are amazing, strong, wonderful people and I love them both very much!!!
We spent some time with them before we left...

On our way home, Isaiah kept talking about "great-grandma"
